Jonathan Rice, CFP®, CPWA®

His work starts with the whole balance sheet. Before any investment recommendation, he maps everything — the operating business, the real estate, the private holdings, the accounts sitting at three different firms, the estate documents nobody has opened in a decade. Most families arrive having never seen all of it in one place, and the portfolio they own was built without reference to any of it. The liquid portfolio, in his view, is the piece that should be shaped around everything else a family owns, not the other way around.

Background. Jonathan helped found Anderson Wealth Management in Charleston in 2023.

Before Charleston, he spent years helping build a wealth management firm from its startup stage through its early growth — beginning in Austin, then relocating to Dallas and Atlanta to help open those markets and expand the client base, while rising from an entry-level role to Vice President along the way.

He came to Anderson Wealth Management to build out a firm to help with complex client scenarios, and to leverage the expertise of the Anderson family as they’ve successfully built businesses for the last 100 years.

He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama with a degree in finance, which he completed in three years while playing on the Crimson Tide football team and winning two national championships. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Certified Private Wealth Advisor® designations, along with his Series 7 and Series 66 licenses and various state insurance licenses.

Personally. Jonathan is an Alabama native who has made Charleston home. He and his wife have four young children and are active in their church and in the community.
